Sponsored also by Supsan, the BOM Karting team competed with four pilots in three categories in the second-leg races of the Motul 2024 Türkiye Karting Championship with Zayn Sofuoğlu securing another place on the winners’ podium.
BOM Karting worked all week at the Tuzla Karting Park Racetrack ahead of the second-leg races of the Türkiye Karting Championship, and its efforts were rewarded when Zayn Sofuoğlu, Türkiye’s youngest karting pilot, secured his place on the podium. Spurred on even more by his unfortunate accident during practice, Zayn ended the weekend in 3rd place in the TOSFED Micro Support Cup.
Racing on the Tuzla Karting Park Track, which is narrow with no room to evade so karts collide more than usual, BOM Karting pilots Efe Ayhan and Rüzgar Evci failed to finish the second day too in the positions they wanted. One of the pilots who fell behind because of collisions on the track with competitors, Efe Ayhan never quit and finished the weekend in 10th place, while Rüzgar Evci bowed out of the race after the fuel hose came loose, finishing 12th in spite of this setback.
Competing in the Senior category, Sarp Arhan Or finished the weekend in 13th place despite failing to finish one race due to a collision in the second lap.
The 3th Leg of the Motul Türkiye Karting Championship will take place at the Izmit Bay Track over 22-23 June.
The BOM Karting team is sponsored by Borusan Otomotiv, Supsan, Shell, Borusan Lojistik, Borçelik, Gedik Piliç and Borusan Oto.
