The first and only team to successfully represent Türkiye in the GT4 European Series for 6 consecutive seasons, Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport (BOM), sponsored by Supsan, has completed its preparations before the new season. BOM, which will compete in the GT4 European Series this year with its new car BMW M4 GT4, enters the season with an even stronger team. Borusan Otomotiv Chief Executive Officer Hakan Tiftik and Borusan Otomotiv Board Member Levent Kocabıyık came together with the press before the season to share their goals and the 15-year success story of BOM team well as their vision for the future.
Hakan Tiftik, Borusan Otomotiv's Chief Executive Officer stated that Borusan Otomotiv established BOM in 2008 with the vision of supporting motorsports and representing Türkiye in international organizations. He also shared that the team participated in nearly 400 races on 38 different tracks in 21 different countries on 4 continents and took the podium dozens of times in the past 15 years. Reminding that they have been the first and only team to represent Türkiye in the GT4 European Series for the last 6 years, Tiftik said, "Our team, which runs towards even bigger goals with increasing investments every year, won 10 Türkiye Pilots' Championships and 4 Teams' Championships while ranking the fifth in the WTCC (World Championship) Teams, the second in the ETCC (European Cup) Pilots', and the Italian Endurance Champions Cup Pilots' Championship and second in the GT4 European Series Pro/AM category. I believe that BOM, which has become even stronger this year, will again be one of the most remarkable teams on the tracks and will achieve its goals. In the new season, I wish success to our BOM team, which makes motorsports lovers proud."
Borusan Otomotiv Board Member Levent Kocabıyık said, "In the GT4 European Series, where competition is at the highest level, we took 3 podiums in 2 races with our previous body race cars last season. In line with the experience we gained in the past 5 seasons and the investments we made in our team, we carefully prepared for the 2023 season. With our new race cars, BMW M4 GT4, and the new pilots joining our team, we will once again compete to the end in the GT4 European Series this year. We are sure that our race car in Turquoise color, which is now identified with BOM, will again be the favorite of the tracks. Our goal is to finish the season at the top range."
