Supsan, the largest valve manufacturer in Türkiye, started to utilize green energy in manufacturing as of July 2023. The company certified its transition to green energy with the International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC) and took a big step in its sustainability journey by meeting 100 percent of the İstanbul plant’s energy demand through renewable energy sources. The first valve brand manufacturing with green energy in Türkiye, Supsan registered this big step in its sustainability journey in the international arena as well.
Within the framework of transforming its business processes in terms of sustainability, Supsan started to use electricity supplied from renewable sources in its plant which has an annual manufacturing capacity of 9 million pieces. Supsan is working with the leading manufacturers in the automotive industry in Türkiye, exporting to the automobile manufacturers in the United States and Europe and positioned as a global player in the spare parts industry and now the company also certified its transition to green energy with the I-REC certificate. The company will only be using green energy from now on in line with this step towards sustainability and continues to lead and set an example to the industry with sustainable manufacturing.
Manufacturing with 100 percent green energy
Mentioning that Supsan has made difference with sustainability and technology, Supsan General Manager Atınç Ocak said that they have completed significant work to future-proof the company in automotive industry which is going through a huge transformation. Ocak continued as follows:
“Automotive industry has been going through a significant change, particularly in the last decade. Achieving the sustainability target can only be possible through technology. At Supsan, we develop our products such as sodium filled valves, turbo and all our processes with a sustainability perspective supported by R&D. Accordingly, we started a new era for both our company and the industry by supplying 100 percent of the energy for our manufacturing plant from renewable sources. And with the I-REC certificate, we demonstrated our achievement in this regard and our commitment to sustainability once again.”
