Türkiye’s largest manufacturer of engine valves, Supsan is one of the stakeholders in Özgün Motor, Türkiye first and only locomotive engine. Taking its place in the TUBITAK 160 series Özgün Motor family programme, Supsan played a role in the timely completion of this key project by completing the work in a very short time with its expert R&D team of 20 people, all of whom are Turkish engineers, when developing the engine’s subsystems.
One of the Borusan Group companies, Supsan became one of the stakeholders contributing to the development of Türkiye’s first and currently only domestic locomotive engine, developed under the leadership of TUBITAK Rail Systems Transportation Technology Institute (TUBITAK RUTE). Carrying out work that strengthens Türkiye’s competitive power in such fields as turbo engine components and sodium valves, Supsan has made major contributions to the development and production of the Özgün Motor’s engine subsystems.
Its experience and competency add value to Türkiye.
Stating that Supsan has carried out pioneering work with its many years of experience in the automotive field, Supsan General Manager Atınç Ocak said they were proud to impart the company’s know-how to the Özgün Motor programme, which adds value to Türkiye. Ocak continued: “The Özgün Motor was developed under TUBITAK RUTE’s leadership and has the distinction of being the locomotive engine that gets the most power from its 1-litre cylinders. From the development phase onwards, we worked with many of our country’s esteemed institutions. We implemented the designs of the valves as well as the guides, inserts and push rods in partnership with TUBITAK RUTE and we supplied them. At Supsan we are going to continue adding value to our country with our experience and competencies”.
