Supsan, the largest valve manufacturer in Türkiye, launched its rainwater harvesting system and treatment wastewater recovery project following its evaporator treatment system in line with its sustainability strategy. In line with its sustainability strategy with the focus areas of climate, people and innovation, Supsan launched its rainwater harvesting system and treatment wastewater recovery project following its evaporator treatment system at its manufacturing plant with a total manufacturing capacity of 9 million pieces.
Having reached a rainwater collection capacity of 16 tons by integrating the unused containers (IBC) available at the plant for rainwater, the company is targeting to increase its rainwater collection capacity to 26 tons by the end of year. With this project, Supsan also recovers the wastewater from treatment devices that generate waste water as much as the amount of water consumed at the plant and transfers it to social water consumption areas.
Saving rainwater and treatment wastewater ,
Supsan General Manager Atınç Ocak said that Supsan continues to take pioneering actions in the industry towards sustainability. Sharing his opinions about the project, Ocak said:
“We achieved 10% water savings in the period covering April-October with our rainwater harvesting system and treatment wastewater recovery project that we launched during the year. We installed the rainwater harvesting system with our own teams and we utilized the materials available at the plant instead of buying materials needed for installing the system. We use the water that we recover by means of rainwater harvesting system and treatment wastewater recovery project in our social areas. In this journey where we progress with the perspective ‘Transformation starts with us’, we are pleased to put yet another project into effect which sets an example to our industry in terms of sustainability.”
