Türkiye’s largest manufacturer of engine valves, Supsan has completed its wastewater management investment in line with its sustainability goals. Having completed its vacuum evaporator investment to the tune of roughly 100 thousand euros, the company is going to reduce the amount of wastewater being sent for disposal and make considerable water savings through the on-line use of this water. It will save an average of 300 cubic metres of water each year.
One of the Borusan Group companies, Supsan has completed its 2000 litres-a-day evaporator investment to treat the wastewater generated by different production processes and achieve more sustainable production. It intends to use this investment, costing around 100 thousand euros, to minimise the amount of wastewater.
Environmentally friendly technology will reduce consumption
Supsan General Manager Atınç Ocak said they had reconsidered their production processes from a sustainability standpoint and had invested in wastewater management. Atınç Ocak made this assessment about the new investment: “We focus on sustainable production at Supsan in line with our responsibility of being the pioneering company in this industry. We develop projects to make our business processes more sustainable, and we are among the leading companies in our industry in this regard. The Sustainability Committee researches the Circular Economy, Decarbonisation and Green Finance and creates projects, and decided to implement this project following the studies and assessments it made.
We send the waste produced by the vacuum evaporator we integrated into our plant to our reclamation-licensed business partner for disposal. By doing so, we will significantly reduce the amounts of waste and achieve 300 cubic metres of water a year by treating this waste."
