Proudly representing Türkiye in the GT4 European Series for 7 seasons, Supsan-sponsored Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport (BOM) competed in the fourth-leg races held at Germany’s legendary Hockenheim track over 20-21 July, closing the weekend with 5 trophies and jubilantly waving the Turkish flag. Co-pilots Berkay Besler and Gabriele Piana, finished the first race in 1st place with an incredible driving performance. Pedro Ebrahim maintained his string of victories by taking the Rookie Cup prize once again. Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport succeeded in claiming its place at the summit with its outstanding performance in the GT4 European Series amid fierce competition.
Driving car number 12, co-pilots Berkay Besler and Gabriele Piana made a magnificent comeback, starting in 19th place and passing the chequered flag in 1st place. Co-pilots Yağız Gedik and Pedro Ebrahim competing in car number 11 failed to finish the race after their car was badly damaged in a collision.
The excitement was through the roof on day 2 of the race when Yağız Gedik and Pedro Ebrahim, again competing in car number 11, made an outstanding effort despite the previous day’s setback, starting the race in 8th place and finishing 2nd; but they ended the second leg of the race again in 8th place.
Racing in car number 12, Berkay Besler and Gabriele Piana started the second day in 17th place and finished 3rd, securing their place on the winners’ podium. One of Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport’s accomplished pilots, Pedro Ebrahim won the Rookie Cup award as he had in the previous races, and lifted the trophy high once again.
With the achievements it made in all categories in the fourth leg of the series, Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport proudly flew the Turkish flag on the winners’ podium, giving the spectators a moment to remember.
The team grabbed the spotlight with its rapidly increasing momentum in the fourth-leg races. Co-pilots Yağız Gedik and Pedro Ebrahim, competing in car 11 took 10th place in the pilots rankings in the Silver category, while Berkay Besler and Gabriele Piana, competing in car 12, rose to 4th place. The series of wins made by Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport propelled them into 2nd place in the Team rankings.
The 5th leg of the GT4 European Series will take place at the Monza Track in Italy over 21-22 September. The races will be broadcast live on S Sport and S Sport+.
