Supsan, the biggest valve manufacturer in Türkiye, took place among the stakeholders of Özgün Motor which is the first and only locomotive engine project of our country. As a part of TÜBİTAK 160 series Özgün Engine family program, Supsan completed the development stage of the engine’s subsystems. The company’s expert R&D team of 20 Turkish engineers contributed to the timely completion of this significant project.
Supsan of Borusan Group Companies became one of the stakeholders which contributed to the development of the first and yet the only domestic locomotive engine of Türkiye, developed under the leadership of TÜBİTAK Rail Transport Technologies Institute (TÜBİTAK RUTE). Having carried out projects that contributed to the competitive power of Türkiye in the areas such as turbo engine components, sodium valves, Supsan also made great contributions to the development and production of the engine’s subsystems within the framework of Özgün Motor program.
Adding value to Türkiye with its experience and competence
Atınç Ocak, General Manager of Supsan, highlighted the pioneering projects carried out by Supsan in the automotive industry with its experience extending over years. He also mentioned the pride they took in transferring the know-how of their company to Özgün Motor program which adds value to Türkiye and continued as follows: “We have worked in cooperation with our very valuable organizations starting from the development phase of Özgün Motor under the leadership of TÜBİTAK RUTE which features a locomotive engine that generates the highest amount of power from 1 litre of displacement. In addition to valves, we designed and procured guide, insert and push rod components in partnership with TÜBİTAK RUTE. As Supsan, we will continue to add value to our country with our experience and competences.”
